Research in Consciousness

My experiments with consciousness have come about as a natural progression of my background and training in psychology, participation in various self-awareness workshops and experiential seminars, as well as different meditation practices.I am not speaking here about an academic research project, but more of a lifelong preoccupation with the phenomenon of consciousness.

Currently I am deeply rooted in Kriya Yoga as my spiritual path in the Self-Realization Fellowship tradition.

This path is expounded in the works of Paramahamsa Yogananda including: Autobiography of a Yogi, The Eternal Quest, The Divine Romance, The Journey to Self-Realization, Solving the mystery of Life , The Second Coming of Christ, and God Spake to Arjuna, as well as the SRF lessons.

Other authors worth mentioning are - kind of in the order that i read them - Richard Bach ("Jonathan Livingstone Seagull", "Illusions" and "The bridge across forever") Robert Pirsig "Zen and the art of motorcycle maintenance" Fynn "Mister God, this is Anna" Fritjof Capra "the Tao of physics" and Gary Zukav "The dancing Wu-Li masters". Then came a stint in Switzerland with Samuel Widmer, most notably "Ins herz der dinge lauschen" "Stell dir vor: do bist ein stuck natur", and "Aus der Stille". Followed by Carlos Castaneda (the entire series), J. Krishnamurthy (all), Stephen Levine (all his books), Ken Wilber, Guy Hendricks (all esp. "At the speed of life"), Taisha Abelar, Swami Rama (Living with the Himalayan Masters), Brian Weiss, Gurdjieff, Thich Nhat Hanh, etc.
